When someone decides to follow Jesus in your church service, it's a time to celebrate their decision. It's also an opportunity for your team to disciple them in their faith journey and guide them to their next steps.
At Life.Church, our campuses hand out physical copies of the You Said Yes devotional to anyone who commits their life to Jesus in one of our services. Our pastors and creative team created this devotional to walk alongside new believers as they navigate their new life with Jesus.
But what about those who say “yes” to Jesus during an online service?
That’s why our team created a special digital version of the You Said Yes 21-day devotional—so churches can disciple new believers online just as effectively as in person.
With more people engaging in church online than ever before, digital discipleship is crucial. A Pew Research study found that while nearly a quarter of U.S. adults watched church online in 2022, only 28 percent of online attenders felt strongly connected to the church they were attending.
That’s a huge gap—but also a huge opportunity.
Our Life.Church Online team spent six weeks following up with anyone who responded to a Salvation Moment during a Church Online Platform service. Through these interviews, we discovered the biggest challenge new online believers face is loneliness.
Many online attenders feel isolated in their new walk with Jesus because:
· They can’t physically attend church
· They struggle with social anxiety
· They don’t have a Christian community nearby
Without guidance, new believers can struggle to understand their decision to follow Jesus and what it means for their lives.
To close the gap for online believers, the Life.Church Online team created You Said Yes, a free 21-day digital devotional designed to answer specific questions about loneliness. It also tackles three key questions:
1. What does this mean?
2. What should I do?
3. What does this change?
Throughout the 21-day journey, new believers are equipped to study the Bible, pray, worship, get baptized, join a Christian community, begin volunteering, be generous, and more.
Your church can transform a digital moment into a lifelong connection with Jesus when you intentionally disciple new believers in the digital space.
We’ve seen so many lives changed through this devotional, and it’s available for free to any church looking for an intentional way to follow up with new believers online. You can download an unbranded editable version or draw inspiration from the exact version we use at Life.Church Online.
If you already run services on the Church Online Platform, you can follow these five simple steps to start using You Said Yes today.
Step 1: Download the editable version of You Said Yes and customize the design and content to best fit your church.
Step 2: Host a public PDF version of the devotional on a platform like Dropbox or Google Drive. Create a shareable link so anyone can download it.
Step 3: Create a simple email submission form to collect their name and basic information. Update your settings to send an autoresponder email containing the shareable link to You Said Yes.
Step 4: In your Church Online Platform account, create a Moment that links to your submission form.
Step 5: Once your Moment is set up, you can offer the You Said Yes devotional during an online service. When your attender responds to your Moment, they'll be directed to complete your email submission form, and then they'll be sent an autoresponder email with the link to download the You Said Yes devotional.
Bonus Tip: When our online pastors show the physical book on camera, we’ve seen an increase in how many people will respond and let us know they’ve prayed to receive Jesus.
